RICHARD “SHAMS” BROWNE
Home

Shams is currently an engineer, producer and the owner of B-Rich Studios in Kingston. Many of Jamaica’s internationally renowned Dancehall artists (such as Sean Paul, Elephant Man and Beenie Man) are drawn to Sham’s distinct dancehall production sound. While Shams is known for his hardcore dancehall style, he also leverages his musical background to produce tracks that have a higher musical content – infusing more instrumentation than the straight drum and bass that is normally found in dancehall.

Shams was formerly the bass player for the musical groups T.O.K. and 303 Band. From 1997 to 2003, Shams produced and managed dancehall artists T.O.K. who were signed to VP/Atlantic Records in 2002. He produced several trackd for the group, such as “Shake Ya Bam Bam” on the 2001 release album My Crew, My Dawgs and “Man a Ban Man” featuring Bounty Killer on the VP Records dancehall compilation album Juice Riddim.
